Q: What specifically speaks to your heart about the Clearsense suite of data tools?

I am a technology guy. Many people have called me cutting-edge in my interests and the things I buy, and I tend to like the term bleeding-edge. Clearsense is in the bleeding-edge category because the solutions that we are developing haven’t been done in this way before. Our approach has never been done before, either. We are ultimately redefining our area of healthcare IT. That’s why our solutions speak to me.

Q: Where do you think healthcare is going — how can Clearsense help our industry get there?

The speed at which things move in healthcare is slow. Very slow. New technologies are adopted much slower in healthcare than in most other industries. This is due to several factors but mainly is attributed to the number of people involved in decisions. So, healthcare is going to the future, albeit slowly. For example, telehealth was a buzzword word in healthcare for many years, with people asking, “is this the year of telehealth?” I asked that question myself in a blog that I wrote a couple of years ago. It took the covid-19 pandemic for telehealth to move from buzzword to immediate need, and it was forced. For years with Meaningful Use, healthcare organizations were focused on the EHR, and the general financial and revenue cycle systems were ignored. Meaningful use went away, and focus turned to those systems. What hasn’t been ignored is the huge amounts of data that are generated in healthcare and the cost to maintain that data. Organizations are now looking to USE that data for the betterment of the care they provide and to realize better financial performance by saving money. Clearsense’s solutions can help organizations do both – making healthcare a more data-focused industry.

Q: What are you most passionate about in our industry and company?

I have been in the healthcare IT space for almost 20 years. I have seen a lot of change, and not a day goes by that I do not learn something new. Since I joined Clearsense, I learn A LOT every day. That’s my passion. To learn about new things, to learn about how technology evolves, and how as an organization, we can have a direct impact on the health and well-being of individuals across the country.

Q: What’s your biggest wish for healthcare data?

I wish to see all organizations embrace their data and use it for the good of their communities.

I have been in the healthcare IT space for almost 20 years. I have seen a lot of change, and not a day goes by that I do not learn something new. Since I joined Clearsense, I learn A LOT every day. That's my passion. To learn about new things, to learn about how technology evolves, and how as an organization, we can have a direct impact on the health and well-being of individuals across the country.

Q: Can you share a little about your data journey– how did you end up at Clearsense?

I have been in the healthcare IT market for almost 20 years. I got my start at a company called Keane, which was later acquired by NTT DATA. After over ten years, I had an opportunity to join Optimum Healthcare IT and build the marketing department from the ground up. Over the years, I served a dual role at both Optimum and Clearsense, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer. I am now fully committed to Clearsense and looking forward to helping grow the company.
