Clearsense Targets Health System Costs With Cloud Imaging Archive
October 20, 2026
Clearsense has launched a cloud-based medical imaging archive aimed at helping health systems cut storage costs, retire aging imaging infrastructure, and keep historical patient studies accessible. Hospitals can shift rarely viewed images off costly production storage into the cloud archive while clinicians can still pull them up when needed, and it handles CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, PET, and dental imaging, including studies from outside providers. The archive plugs into existing enterprise imaging systems, so clinicians can open studies in a web viewer or their usual imaging apps, with access governed and audit-logged.
Clearsense also converts images stuck in proprietary legacy formats into standard DICOM files, applying corrected patient and study information so the archive stays consistent with the official clinical record. CEO Jason Z. Rose framed the pitch around economics, arguing that health systems shouldn’t keep paying production-storage prices for data that’s only occasionally accessed. The company positions the launch as an extension of its broader application rationalization and active archiving strategy, reducing the cost and complexity of maintaining older clinical systems while preserving the history needed for patient care, compliance, and continuity.
